Riding Lessons

Welcome to Raspberry Ridge Farms Riding Program.

PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO COVID-19 OUR LESSON PROGRAM HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR 2020. STAY SAFE.

2020 Season Dates

  • May 1 to October 1

Times

  • Tuesday and Thursday evenings
  • Saturday mornings

Under Debbie Richards, our lesson program offers beginner to advanced instruction in the Hunter and Dressage disciplines. The program is centered on having fun while building a correct, balanced position. Students will learn the ability to ride without getting in the horse’s way, and will find better balance with the horse both in and out of the tack.

Hunters

Flat work will focus on steering and transitions while building confidence and strength.  When the rider is ready, poles and jumping will be introduced.

Dressage

Flat work will consist of riding various movements and exercises, and will also include practice dressage tests as skills increase.

Safety around the horses is our priority. Understanding the horse on the ground as well as from its back will set the rider up to succeed, feel safe and have fun. Helmets are provided.  Riders will need to wear comfortable clothing, and must ride in a boot that has a half-inch heel. Gloves are also suggested.
