Check
out our three tips for making the most of your site:
1.
Be Consistent
A web site can create immediate brand recognition and
trust because the look and feel are consistent with your existing corporate
identity and marketing materials. You can do this by:
- Featuring your company logo prominently on
each page of your site.
- Using the same colour scheme in your site as your current
marketing materials
- Displaying photographs and images that
compliment your company's activities to explain what you do.
2. Create a Memorable Experience for Visitors
A custom site is memorable because it's unique and
enjoyable.
Remember:
- Be accurate and
up-to-date to build trust. A stale company site gives the
impression that not much is happening with your business!
- Use good design and writing to be sure
that your site is always easy to navigate. If you continually
get questions about a certain product or service, then the
information is not easy enough to obtain.
- Respond immediately and
directly to your visitors' inquiries with personal emails or
auto-responses means customers are happier. Don't let clients
feel that you have forgotten about them!
3. Keep Your Site Evolving
A site can evolve along with your online customer
relationships. Gradually move key customer service operations
to your site (i.e. an on-line newsletter to keep customers
up-to-date regarding new products, services or innovations; hours of operation
posted for a "bricks and mortar" business; a frequently asked
questions page for new or existing customers.)
More Tips:
- Update the look of your site at least once a year or when
you develop new products or marketing materials.
- Keep track of online usage. Consider a
client survey so that you can see where you
can add the most value for customers.
